Sad Good Bye’s and New Beginnings

 Due to the high risk of bike jacking and fatal accidents Team Helivac  started the Helivac Safe Cycling Initiative in 2010 incorporating the Helivac Bike Marshals, a dedicated team of guys and girls with a passion for motor biking, cycling and road safety. This initiative started with marshals and paramedics escorting cyclists in the South of Joburg on a 40km and 100 km training route that could be ridden every weekend with the Helivac Bike Marshals giving a rolling road closure and keeping everyone safe.

This soon grew to a great deal more with the Helivac Bike Marshals covering a great deal of race events as well as keeping the cyclists safe at numerous training and awareness rides around the country.

 It’s been a great experience over the last 18 months!

 With the 2011 Season coming to end and industry lining up for the 2012 offerings, it’s with great sadness that Helivac ends a very successful chapter with the Helivac Bike Marshals. This news doesn’t mean the end of the Bike Marshals though as the team heading up the bike marshals will be carrying on under the name Road Rangers with one of the EMS Service providers taking over as the title sponsor.

 Helivac is proud of the achievements of the Helivac Marshals Team and wish them all of the best with their new ventures.
